Scout Activity Event

Date: 19th November 2026 Location: Hillside Scout Group, Oaktree Bank, Knayton, Thirsk, UK Sections: Scouts Event Organiser: Hillside Scout Group

Gather your patrol, bring your team spirit and get ready for an evening of adventure! Hillside Scout Group is excited to welcome Scouts from across North Hambleton to our HQ in Knayton for this year’s District Activity Evening. Expect plenty of laughs, a bit of healthy competition and lots of challenges that will put your teamwork, communication and Scout skills to the test.

Patrols of 4–6 Scouts will take on a series of timed challenges around the HQ and grounds, earning points at each base. At the end of the evening, one patrol will claim the title of District Activity Evening Champions!

Each Troop is welcome to enter as many patrols as they wish. For every patrol entered, you’ll need to provide a 7-minute activity base run by an adult leader, so if you bring three patrols, you’ll run three bases. Make your challenge fun, imaginative and suitable for Scout-aged young people, and please ensure it has been appropriately risk assessed.

Leaders can arrive from 6.00pm to set up, with activities running from 6.30pm until 8.30pm. Please let us know how many patrols you’ll be bringing and the activity you’ll be running by Friday 13th November 2026.

Please note that parking is available in the main car park only, as there is no parking alongside the building.

So gather your patrol, sharpen your Scout skills and join us around the challenge trail for what promises to be another fantastic evening of fun, friendship and adventure. We can’t wait to see you there!
