The Scouts are the UK's biggest mixed youth organisation; Scouts in North Hambleton have a total membership of over 500 and growing.
North Hambleton District Scouts is a place where Young People can truly belong — a community that welcomes them, supports them, and encourages them to be confidently themselves. Through adventure, teamwork and shared values, we help young people build confidence, develop skills for life, and form friendships that last well beyond their time in uniform.
Formed in 2023 through the merger of Leven and Northallerton Districts, our District brings together towns, villages and rural communities across North Yorkshire. Whether you’re in Northallerton, Stokesley, Bedale, Masham, Knayton or the countryside in between, your local Scout Group offers a safe, inclusive space where every young person is valued, heard and supported by dedicated volunteers.
Across our District, Scouting gives children and young adults a trusted community outside home and school — a place where they can try new things, discover what they’re capable of, and grow into confident, caring members of their community. When young people feel they belong, they step forward, take part fully, and shine.
We offer fun, challenge and adventure at every stage of Scouting:
Today, North Hambleton District supports around 500 young people, made possible by more than 160 adult volunteers across 9 Scout Groups and 5 Explorer Units. Together, we’re building a strong, inclusive and connected Scouting community — a place to be yourself, find friends, and look forward with confidence to the adventures ahead.
