Youth Voice: The Legacy of North Hambleton (Youth Forum)
Have you ever had an idea that you think would make Scouting even better? Whether it’s a new activity, an exciting event, more opportunities to gain skills, or simply something you’d like to see done differently, this is your chance to have your voice heard. We’re inviting Scouts, Explorers and Network members from across the District to come along to a relaxed and informal evening where the focus is entirely on your ideas, your experiences and your vision for the future of Scouting.
There won’t be presentations or long meetings just a friendly, welcoming space where you can enjoy some food, meet other young people from across the District and chat about the things that matter most to you. Nikki our District Youth Lead, will be there to listen to your thoughts, answer your questions and explore how your ideas could become reality. Whether you have one big idea or lots of small suggestions, every contribution is valuable, and every opinion matters.
This evening is all about giving young people a genuine opportunity to influence what happens across the District. We want to know what you enjoy most about Scouting, what could be improved, what opportunities you would like to see offered, and what would encourage even more young people to get involved. Your feedback will help shape future activities, events, programmes and priorities, ensuring that the District develops in a way that reflects the interests and ambitions of its young people.
The event is based on the belief that the best ideas come from the people who experience Scouting every week. By bringing together young people from different groups and sections, we’ll be able to share ideas, inspire one another and work together to create an even better experience for everyone. Leaders will be present to provide support and safeguarding, but the conversations will belong to you, ensuring that your voices remain at the heart of the evening.
So, if you’ve ever said, “I wish we could do…”, “It would be great if…” or “Why don’t we try…?”, this is your opportunity to turn those ideas into action. Come along, enjoy some food, meet new people, have your say and help shape the future of Scouting across our District. Together, we can make sure that Scouting continues to be exciting, inclusive and full of opportunities for every young person.
