Cub Activity Day

Date: 21st November 2026 Location: Hillside Scout Group, Oaktree Bank, Knayton, Thirsk, UK Sections: Cub Scouts Event Organiser: Hillside Scout Group

Hillside Scout Group is delighted to be hosting this year’s North Hambleton District Cubs Activity Day at our HQ in Knayton, and we’d love to see as many Packs there as possible for a fun-filled day of teamwork, challenges and friendly competition.

Throughout the day, Cubs will take part in a variety of timed activity bases, working in sixes to score points. Packs can enter as many sixes as they wish, with each six made up of 4–6 Cubs. For every six entered, Packs will need to provide one adult-led activity base. Each base will award up to 10 points, with the highest-scoring six crowned the winners at the end of the day.

Groups can set up from 10am & Cubs to arrive at 10:20am for the Activities to start at 10:30am. To start the day we will have activity bases around the HQ, followed by lunch and a district-wide game in the afternoon, Cubs are to be collected at 3pm . Cubs should come dressed for the weather, wearing sensible footwear & Clothing and bring a packed lunch and named water bottle.

The cost of the event is £8 per Group.

To help with planning, please let us know how many Cubs and sixes you’ll be bringing, along with details of your activity base(s), by Friday 13th November 2026, please also ensure a suitable risk assessment is completed for each activity base.

Please note that there is no parking alongside the Scout HQ, so all vehicles should use the main car park.

The District Cubs Activity Day is a fantastic opportunity for Cubs to challenge themselves, meet others from across the district and enjoy a great day of Scouting.

We look forward to welcoming you to Knayton!
