What’s the Programme Team?
It’s a group of volunteers who make sure every Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer in our District enjoys a safe, high‑quality, exciting programme. They connect Section Teams with activity experts and help bring the very best of Scouting to life.
What You’ll Do
As part of the Programme Team, you’ll help:
– Support Sections to run brilliant weekly programmes and community projects
– Guide volunteers through new badges, activities and Top Awards
– Encourage and enable international trips, adventurous activities, and nights away
– Help volunteers gain Nights Away Permits and access activity experts
– Organise inclusive District events
– Spot learning needs and link volunteers with development opportunities
– Create networking opportunities so leaders can share ideas and good practice
Who Can Join?
Anyone with enthusiasm for supporting young people and helping leaders deliver great Scouting. You don’t need to be tied to a specific Section — we build the team around people’s skills and interests.
Training & Support
All Programme Team Members complete our core learning, and Team Leaders receive additional leadership training. You’ll be supported every step of the way.
Why It Matters
Your support helps:
– Young people access life‑changing experiences
– Leaders feel confident and connected
– Our District run safe, adventurous, inclusive Scouting
– Big events and activities happen that no single Section could run alone
You’ll be part of the engine room that keeps Scouting thriving across North Hambleton.
