Help shape unforgettable adventures and support young people to gain skills for life.

What’s the Programme Team?
Programme Team Member – Role Description
North Hambleton District Scouts

Purpose of the Role
Programme Team Members help ensure every Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer in North Hambleton enjoys a safe, high‑quality, exciting programme. They support Section Teams, connect volunteers with activity experts, and help bring the very best of Scouting to life.

What You’ll Do
As a Programme Team Member, you will help:

– Support Sections to run brilliant weekly programmes and community projects
– Guide volunteers through new badges, activities and Top Awards
– Encourage and enable adventurous activities, international trips and nights away
– Help volunteers gain Nights Away Permits and access activity experts
– Organise inclusive District events that individual Sections couldn’t run alone
– Spot learning needs and link volunteers with development opportunities
– Create networking opportunities so leaders can share ideas and good practice

You won’t do all of these alone — the team shares responsibilities based on people’s skills and interests.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be tied to a specific Section or be an expert in every activity. We’re looking for people who:

– Enjoy supporting others
– Are enthusiastic about helping young people gain skills for life
– Like problem‑solving and enabling great experiences
– Are positive, reliable and good at working with others
– Want to help shape exciting, inclusive Scouting across the District

Anyone with enthusiasm and commitment can thrive in this role. We build the team around people’s strengths.

Training & Support
All Programme Team Members complete our core learning, and you’ll be supported every step of the way by the Programme Team Lead and the District Leadership Team.

Why This Role Matters
Your contribution helps:

– Young people access life‑changing experiences
– Leaders feel confident and connected
– The District deliver safe, adventurous, inclusive Scouting
– Big events and activities happen that no single Section could run alone

You’ll be part of the engine room that keeps Scouting thriving across North Hambleton.

Time Commitment

Flexible and shaped around your availability. Most activity is planned in advance and can be fitted around work, family and other commitments.
