Cub Scouts is for young people aged 8 to 10½ and builds on the confidence, independence and skills gained in Beavers. Across North Hambleton District, Cub Packs offer an exciting and balanced programme filled with fun, adventure and new challenges, helping young people grow physically, emotionally and socially.
Cubs take part in a wide range of activities, from outdoor adventures and camps to sports, creative challenges and community projects. By getting hands-on and trying new things, Cubs develop teamwork, problem-solving and leadership skills, while learning to be resilient, supportive of others and confident in their own abilities.
Through the badge and awards programme, Cubs are encouraged to take more responsibility for themselves and for the Pack. Progress is recognised and celebrated, with every young person supported to achieve and learn at their own pace.
Sessions are led by trained adult volunteers who are committed to providing a safe, supportive and welcoming environment. North Hambleton District is dedicated to inclusion and accessibility, working in partnership with families to make reasonable adjustments in line with Scouts UK policy. This ensures that every Cub can take part fully, enjoy new experiences and reach their full potential, while keeping activities safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Cubs is a place to make friends, have adventures and keep building skills for life.
