A Year of Adventure Across North Hambleton District

2026 has been another fantastic year for North Hambleton District, filled with adventure, challenge and opportunities for our young people to learn new skills, make new friends and create memories that will last a lifetime.

The year got off to a great start with our 1st District Camp at Redmire, where Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and volunteers came together to enjoy a weekend packed with outdoor adventure, teamwork and fun, events like these are at the heart of Scouting, giving young people the chance to develop skills for life while embracing new experiences in the great outdoors.

We also marked St George’s Day with our annual Promise Renewal, this important occasion brought members from across the District together to renew their Scout Promise, celebrate our shared values and recognise the strength of our Scouting community, the adventure continues throughout the rest of the year, with an exciting programme of events planned for every section.

Our Beavers are looking forward to exploring the magical Forbidden Corner, while Cubs will be enjoying a memorable 110th Anniversary event “Celebrating Under the Stars” experience, older members will have the opportunity to take part in Being You, supporting 14–24-year-olds to build confidence, resilience and friendships, while Scouts will attend Ignite at Stokeld Park, a weekend full of challenge, adventure and unforgettable experiences, these events showcase everything that makes Scouts special.

Whether it’s trying something for the first time, stepping outside a comfort zone, learning practical skills, or simply having fun with friends, every activity helps young people grow in confidence and prepares them with Skills for Life.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible commitment of our volunteers, week after week they give their time, energy and enthusiasm to provide amazing opportunities for our young people. Their dedication, along with the support of parents, carers and the wider community, ensures Scouting continues to thrive across North Hambleton District.

As we look ahead to 2027, we’re excited for another year of adventure, challenge and growth, we can’t wait to see even more young people enjoying everything Scouting has to offer and creating new memories together.
