Promise Renewal 22/04/26

Date: 23rd Apr 2026 Author: Mark Turner

This year’s event was filled with energy, connection, and genuine Scout spirit from start to finish. The addition of music brought a noticeably livelier atmosphere, helping the day feel even more fun and giving young people the space and time to enjoy a wider range of activities. As one attendee put it, “Definitely the music made it a much livelier and fun event and the young people had more time to do activities.”

One of the standout moments of the day was the camaraderie shown across the District. Leaders from different units stepped in to support young people who weren’t part of their own groups, creating a welcoming environment where new friendships could form, both between young members and between leaders themselves. It was a brilliant reminder of how strong our Scouting community truly is.

It was also inspiring to see every young person taking part in the activities at their own ability and level, encouraged and supported throughout. Leaders were fully engaged too, mixing with members from across the District and helping create a sense of unity that carried through the whole event.

A particularly proud moment came when Explorer Scout Zeke stood confidently before peers and leaders to lead the Scout Promise. His leadership captured the spirit of the day — youth empowerment, pride, and shared purpose.

Overall, the event was a wonderful celebration of Scouting values in action: fun, friendship, teamwork, and community. The positive energy and connections made will carry forward long after the day itself.
