Winter Camp 26

Date: 18th Jan 2026 Author: Mark Turner

What a fantastic weekend for North Hambleton Scouts!

Young people from 1st Stokesley Scouts, Bedale Scouts and our Explorer Scouts headed to Harrogate Winter Camp for a truly memorable adventure and they rose to the challenge brilliantly.

Over two action-packed days at Thornthwaite Scout Campsite in Nidderdale, they took part in 30 different activities, camped overnight, and joined around 200 Scouts from across the region for a Saturday full of teamwork, challenge and fun.

We are incredibly proud of every young person who took part, and hugely grateful to the volunteers who made the weekend possible, their time, energy and enthusiasm are what turn great ideas into experiences that young people remember for years to come.

Opportunities like this are only possible because of our volunteers and with more support, we can offer even more adventures. If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, whether for an hour a month or a couple of evenings a term, now is a great time to do so.

No experience is needed, just a willingness to help young people have fun, gain confidence and discover what they can achieve.

Come and be part of something special, help us bring even more adventure to the young people of North Hambleton. If you’d like to chat about how you could get involved, we’d love to hear from you.
