Last Chance to Register: North Hambleton Cub Challenge Day 2026

Date: 18th Jan 2026 Author: Philip Roberts

Cubs from across North Hambleton District are invited to take part in an exciting Cub Challenge Day on Sunday 22 February 2026, with preparations now well underway, this is the final opportunity for Cub Packs to register and be part of the day.

The event will take place at Hillside Scout HQ (YO7 4AX) from 10:00am to 3:00pm, and is open to Cub Packs from across the District, the cost is £8 per group (for teams of up to 8 Cubs), making it a great-value opportunity for Cubs to enjoy a full day of Scouting activities with others from across North Hambleton.

The Challenge Day is all about having a go, working together, and enjoying being a Cub. The focus is on participation rather than badges or assessments, with Cubs moving around a series of short, fun activity bases lasting around 8–10 minutes, each activity will give Cubs the chance to try something new, build confidence, and develop simple skills in a positive and supportive environment.

A key part of the day is that every Pack attending will help by running an activity base, this shared approach helps create a varied and exciting programme, showcases the strengths of different Packs, and supports closer working and connections between leaders across the District.

The day also gives Cubs the chance to meet others from different Packs, make new friends, and feel part of the wider Scouting family, for leaders, it provides an opportunity to meet fellow volunteers, share ideas, and celebrate the impact of Cub Scouting across North Hambleton District.

Cubs should bring a packed lunch, water bottle, and clothing suitable for the activities planned, support will be in place throughout the day to ensure a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable event for everyone.

Last chance to book: Packs were asked to register their interest and provide approximate numbers by 9 January 2026 to support planning. With final arrangements now being confirmed, the final closing date for registrations is 1 February 2026. Registrations received after this date cannot be accepted.

The Cub Challenge Day promises to be a real highlight of the Cub programme, celebrating fun, friendship, teamwork and adventure, and showcasing Cub Scouting at its best.
