Scouts is for young people aged 10½ to 14 and focuses on developing skills for life through adventure, teamwork and personal challenge. Scout Troops across North Hambleton District deliver a varied programme of indoor and outdoor activities that supports young people to grow in confidence, independence and responsibility.
Scouts take part in activities such as camping, hiking, navigation, cooking, outdoor skills, creative challenges and community action. They work towards a range of badges and awards that recognise achievement, leadership and personal development, while encouraging participation and effort.
Sessions are led by trained adult volunteers, supported by young leaders, in accordance with The Scouts’ safety, safeguarding and inclusion frameworks. Young people are encouraged to have a voice in shaping their programme. Where required, reasonable adjustments will be made to activities, equipment or delivery to ensure all Scouts can access opportunities and participate fully.
