Welcome to North Hambleton District Scouts!

North Hambleton District Scouts is a place to belong, where young people and volunteers are welcomed, supported, and encouraged to be themselves. Through adventure, teamwork, and shared values, we help young people build confidence, develop skills for life, and form lasting friendships.

Formed in 2023 through the merger of Leven and Northallerton Districts, we support Scouting across a wide area of North Yorkshire, bringing together towns, villages, and rural communities on both sides of the A19, from Northallerton and Stokesley to Bedale, Masham, Knayton, and beyond, our local groups provide safe, inclusive spaces where everyone is valued.

Across our District, Scouting offers a trusted community outside of home and school, a place where young people are seen, heard, and supported by dedicated volunteers, we believe that when people feel they belong, they grow in confidence, take part fully, and make a positive difference in their communities.

We offer fun, challenge and adventure at every stage of Scouting:

  • Squirrels (4–6)
  • Beavers (6–8)
  • Cubs (8–10½)
  • Scouts (10½–14)
  • Explorers (14–18)
  • Scout Network (18–25)

Today, North Hambleton District supports around 500 young people, made possible by more than 160 adult volunteers across 9 Scout Groups and 5 Explorer Units, together, we are building a strong, inclusive, and connected Scouting community, a place to be yourself, find friends, and look forward with confidence to the adventures ahead.
