BARNES Explorer Unit
Based in Brompton, Northallerton, our Explorer Scout Unit is open to all young people aged 14–18 who are ready to take on new challenges, make great friends, and shape their own adventures.
We meet weekly at Brompton Methodist Church (what3words: physics.crimson.typically), combining indoor and outdoor sessions that bring learning, fun, and adventure together.
Our programme is as varied as the young people who join us – one week you might be trying your hand at archery, the next you could be working towards your Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, or racing around a Go Kart track. No two weeks are ever the same!
Across the UK, thousands of volunteers make these experiences possible – showing up week after week to help Explorers develop confidence, resilience, and skills for life. Here at Brompton, we’re proud to continue that tradition by creating opportunities for young people to lead, explore, and discover what they’re capable of.
Whether it’s earning activity badges or working towards one of Scouting’s top awards, there’s always something new to achieve and celebrate.
