Tyr Explorer Unit
Based in Stokesley and open to all young people aged 14 to 18, our Explorer Scout Unit offers a vibrant and varied programme designed to challenge, inspire and develop skills for life.
We meet weekly at the Scout and Guide HQ on North Road, Stokesley, where no two weeks are ever the same. One week you might be taking part in an outdoor adventure, learning practical skills, or planning your next expedition and the next you could be trying something completely different!
Our activities have included everything from indoor skydiving and mountain adventures to interrailing across Europe all the way to Switzerland and back. Whether indoors or outdoors, local or international, there’s always something exciting to get involved in.
Explorer Scouts work towards a range of activity badges and top awards that recognise achievement, teamwork and personal growth, these experiences help young people build confidence, make lifelong friends, and learn to stand on their own two feet, all while having fun.
