District Scout Camp – Barney Beck, Redmire – Event Planning Team are looking to guage how many people will be joining us – Section Registration Form is below!
Dates: Friday 26th June – Sunday 28th June
We’re planning an exciting District Scout Camp for all sections and need your help to make it happen! This will be a fantastic weekend bringing together Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers, with potentially 400 young people plus leaders on site.
The camp will run from Friday tea time through to Sunday 3:00 pm, and we have a team of enthusiastic adults to help plan and deliver this event. Your section’s support will make a huge difference.
What We Need
- Complete the form in order we have an approximate number of people joining the event
- The Team – Will then be able to add more details and activities
- Programme Support – if you are able to offer section-specific and/or whole-camp activities let us know
- Event Crew – We would appreciate Help with arrivals, traffic management, and general support.
- We’re planning an Adults’ Coffee & Tea Space – a relaxing space for leaders and volunteers.
Key Details
- Sections/groups will be self-catering.
- Main programme will be provided, including section-specific and whole-camp activities.
- Sections will also have time for their own activities.
Initial (estimates of) Event Cost
Explorers, Scouts & Cubs £30
Beavers & Squirrels £20

these do not include your transport or food costs for the event
Arrival Plan
- Scouts & Explorers – Hike in Friday evening and camp all weekend.
- Cubs – Arrive Saturday morning, camp overnight.
- Squirrels & Beavers – Arrive Saturday afternoon, camp overnight.
Simple Weekend Programme
Friday – 26th June
- 17:00–20:00: Scouts & Explorers arrive (hike in), set up camp.
- 20:30: Opening campfire for Scouts & Explorers.
Saturday – 27th June
- 09:00–11:00: Cubs arrive and set up camp.
- Saturday morning Scouts and Explorers to self programme – we are aiming to have some activities on site – when we have a better idea of numbers we will make these bookable
- 13:00–14:00: Squirrels & Beavers arrive and set up camp.
- Afternoon: Section activities & whole-camp challenge.
- Evening: Big campfire for all sections.
Sunday – 28th June
- Morning: Section activities & closing camp-wide activity.
- 15:00: Closing ceremony and departures.
